Great Tip

The London Walking Tours are fantastic. You can get a program of what is offered at tourist centers. I am not sure if it is a private company or run by the city (PBS style). The great thing about them is that they are usually led by someone who is an expert on a particular subject. The Sherlock Holmes tour I took was led by an English Professor who was a well known Historian of Holmes. There are all kinds of tours offered and they are inexpensive... around 6-8 US, if I remember correctly. I have been on several and they where all fantastic.
